Guide to self love
It's sad knowing that I love others more than I love myself, I hate to see others in pain, but when it comes to me "I'm fine" - Abigail J
For us, self love is one of the fundemental parts of our lifes. With that being said we are not perfect, we do have bad days as any other people. Here is a couple of things you can do to improve self love and self esteem. Disclaimer we are not experts on this topic, but we are just sharing what we find working for us.
Accept your features
In today's society we are taught that you have to fit in to different beauty standards like being skinny or have big lips, to be seen as beautiful or attractive. Most women does not look like this, media has given us some unrealistic expectations of our bodies. We think that the first step to loving yourself, is by accepting how your body looks. Wether that is curvey, slim or muscular. Loving every part of yourself, is one of the most fundemental parts for self love.
Surround yourself with positive people
The people you surround yourself with, will have a huge impact in how you are as a person. If you surround yourself with negative people, you will most likely be left with a bad and depressing feeling. Some of this negativity will eventually be a part of the person you are.
"I am beautiful"
"I am strong"
" I am worth it"
This might seem like a silly thing to do, but its proven to be one of the best things towards self love. Wether you would like to write it down, or just vocally remind yourself. Do it! Always find time in your day to tell yourself how amazing and important you are.
Throw away your scale
We've got to write about this one time or another. But weighing yourself is not going to help with anything, neither will feeling like you have to weight a certain amount. Throw away your scale and practice finding peace with your looks.
Eat whatever the hell you want
Stop apologizing for eating what you want, and what you enjoy. We personally do not eat meat, but we are not going to command you to do the same. Living a vegetaian lifestyle has helped us to become more intuned with our body, and what it actually wants, but its your personal choice.
Take a break from social media
Social media is one of the things that contribute to low self-esteem. If you can't stop using social media, try to unfollow people who pours negetive energy into your life. Social media also can also give you unrealistic expectations about how a normal day to day life is. We get addicted to our phones, macs and iPads, it's time to put them down for a while and live.
